WTB good running car in Chicago area
Looking for a f-body in the Chicago area to partially fill the void thats been left in my heart since my 97 chameleon green-blue Trans-Am got repoed. (see pic below) I've seen some great cars listed here but they always end up being too far away.
Here's what I am looking for:
-- I am in the far northwest chicago burbs (McHenry) but am willing to drive a little for the right car (rockford? kankakee? so wisconsin? nw indiana?) as long as you can give an honest description and some good pics because I don't want to waste my time or yours.
-- Looking to be under $2k. Maybe I could scrape up a little more for the right car, but things haven't gone well the last couple years and I am a broke mofo.
-- It needs to be in excellent mechanical shape. It will be a daily driver and I can't really attempt repairs until it is warmer out.
-- Needing paint and a little body work is fine with me. While I *do* expect *some* rust from anything around here, I don't want any rustbuckets. I already had my heart broken by a drop top camaro that looked like the strut was about to break thru the strut tower over the next bump.
-- TPI is preferred. Of course a 350 would rock but I can't be picky on my budget now can I
-- I love the 91-92 body and would definately settle for TBI in one of these.
-- Don't even offer your grandma's v6. Only v6 I'd want is a 4th gen 3800 which would be out of my price range anyway.
