  • 1st gen build-up update

Well maybe some of u know that i was building a carb ls-1 and putting it in my 67 camaro. so let me fill u in on why my car isnt done yet....

well in september i was all ready 4 everything all i needed was a new clutch and to send my ls1 oil pan out to be trimed so it would clear the frame, so i send out the pan to this shop in arkansas and i track it day by day online and it heads 2 orlando and then to tennessee and then 2days later its still their and i thought well their slow, so then after a week i check it and its still their so i decide to call and see whats wrong and they give me a story on how its in the warehouse and their looking 4 it but cant find it since its a big place and they would call me back in about an hour, 2days go by and i call again then they tell me the computer says appears to be damaged, i was getting mad already then i said well wut do i have 2 do and they said that they would check in with their supervison and call me back... i call back the next day and start demanding to speak with whos ever incharge of the guy on the phone and after being on with him for an hour they finally tell me its lost and nowhere to been found.....wtf!.... no it wasnt insured...damit... so i say they still better pay me so i can finish my baby. My plans were to finish the car by nov. 1st so i could attend the metallica concert in it but F*****G fedex didnt want to pay and i wanted atleast $200 and they finally send me a check for $120 on nov 20th and then i had nothing to do to my car so i started picking at stuff and looking at things i never checked and notice how bad the rust is so i got my year one catalog and check prices and found out that its not too much to fix her up... $4000 in new parts from year1 including everything i need to finish her up leaving her like new. so i started taking things apart seeing how bad everything really was...it was hard to see due to the spectacular bondo job some1 did to it, like it looked amazing but i dont want bondo so i need new fenders, doors, floors, the windows have "etching" so their gone too carpet whole interior is pretty gone... so now i have half a car and like a bunch of junk... i plan on doing everything i can myself.. welding is out of my skill level. so now i work mon-fri 8am to 5pm so maybe ill have her done right in about 6months... it sounds better than 1/2 a year lol, so im not gonna rush anything i want everthing to be done just how i want it, no cutting corners. so when im done ill probably shut up that pesky R-32 if he hasnt blown it and maybe be in a magazine...haha who knows not many 17 yr olds doing stuff like this these days. well if any of u would like to make donations just let me know, imagine if every1 in this forum gave me just one dollar... that would help alot... lol j/k. well i guess ill keep posting when i get some parts in and let u all know how it goes, shes gonna rock i know it, in the mean time ill be looking for a daily driver, might get a 3rd gen their some awsome deals around here.... lol this is like a winter project too. well take care guys thanks 4 the info u supply. ROCK ON!!
