  • PROJECT: Firebird Update - Brake Conversion

Got a bunch of brake parts in last weekend, still missing brake lines and proportioning valve. Got a large part of the conversion complete, only things left to do are new master cylinder, brake lines, brake bleed, and proportioning valve. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be either.

Next week I plan on finishing the conversion, finishing the How-To I'm writing on it, and hopefully swapping the steering gear box!

So far I've spend about $1100. Gear box will cost me about $150, new top is about $100, and new interior.... $800 or so. This will put me just over what I had expected to spend Now I wonder how much I could get for original drum brakes.... even though they're original, I doubt anyone would want them.
