I'm building a 383 and have a high volume water pump. Do I need to connect the external bypass passages on my manifold? I've read if not pressue will build when the thermostat is closed and stress the pump. My manifold states the bypasses are optional. My pump has the tapped pipe fitting to connect to the manifold / or maybe heater core???
