I have a 1979 firebird that I am converting to a trans am. I plan on putting a 455 rebuilt in it, and converting from automatic to manual. Does anyone have tips on how to switch out the tranny? should I get the engine first and exhaust system? Is it practical at all? any other good way to turn my first car into a garage beast? Does not necessarily have to be street legal.....
