I just picked up the Ragtop from the upholstery repair shop. Drivers side, side bolster had worn through and the foam pad was showing. Some may recall that I asked the Board about repair versus replacement a couple months ago, and the general concensus was that it was better to replace than try to repair becuase they could never match the material.
Well, I am here to tell ya, I took the f-body to a long established auto upholstery shop here in Lincoln, NE, and the match of material and the repair was so perfect that no one would be able to tell teh entire drivers side, side bolster material was not original. Fantastic job, perfcet material match. The repair cost $150 (versus $400 for the enitre seat back upholstery from GM) and I could not be happier. If you're in a similar situation, don't hesitate to seek out an established shop and check out repair versus replacement-you may save a bunch of bucks for an original equipment look repair.
