  • I'm in the home stretch.....

And it's going to be close. I organized a dyno tuning day on May 14th, and now one of my cars may not make it. That normall wouldn't be a big deal except for the fact that both of my cars are 93's and require chips. And to boot, the guy doing the tuning is driving up from South Carolina. So it's not like this is a big opportunity.

My motor should be delivered to the shop on Monday. It's an AP Engineering 355 with forged rods/pistons and cast crank, neutrally balanced, and going to have about a 11.6-11.7 compression ratio with my heads.

Heads is what the hold up was. When they came off the car some machining issues were noted, and taken care of. I didn't get the heads back until Thursday afternoon, but I'm pretty pleased with them. The original flow numbers hold up, in a way. The new bench they were flowed on, as told to me by the porter, flows 10-12 lower than his own. The numbers matched this almost exactly, so whatever. 52CC Combustion Chambers, 175CC Intake runners. These are the heads that made 375/363 with the 224/230 XE cam and a full exhaust with mid length headers and a RT Catalytic.

And the kicker, and the make or break for the dyno tune day. The cam is coming from Joe Overton, and he said to me that it's normally a 1 1/2 week turnaround. Doh!!! He said he's going to try to get an extra couple of days in there for me, but at this point I'm not holding my breath.

It's always something huh?? Anyway, just thought I'd throw an update with the progress.
