dyno in an A4

[Craig 94 TA GT]

Without tapping into the PCM, does anyone know what RPM (or MPH) I can get to in 3rd, where I can punch it, and it won't downshift - on the dyno? I've heard 3k is good, but can't seem to verify that info.
BTW, gears are stock 3.23s.
