plugs and wires for ls1

On an ls1, how much of a difference would changing the plugs and wires make? (not just horsepower wise) Should i change the coils as well and what brand does everone recomend? I ran a search and found that most people use NGK plugs but are talking about lt1 cars. Couldn't find much disscusion about ls1's.BTW my car just has a borla catback, whisper lid. 160 stat is goin in tonight after work.
