  • NFB: definately need KEN the wolfman on this tire question

ok i bought a 1999 dodge ram 1500 sport. it came from the factory with LT265/75r16 tires on it. the door sticker (because dodge does not change them when they put on an optional size tire) reads 225/75r16XL. the dealer inspected it and per state law they put on that size, but in doing so they put on a P225/75r16. and with 45 psi of air in them it looks like i have 9 tons on the truck. so i got the build sheets from star net and a function 14 print out from the service dept. both state that the truck was originaly equiped with the 265's, and the dealer refuses to put that size on it. now i have been going around on this with them for 5 days now, and i finally called the state police inspection dept. and he is going to go talk to them on monday. my question is how unsafe is this thing with the P rated tires on it, and how do i convince them its unsafe, if infact that it is unsafe? not to mention that the main reason i want the correct size on there is because noe the odometer is putting extra miles on it, and that will directly shorten my warranty, and add miles to the truck
