Headlight switch

Now, all firebird owners take a deep breath and laugh, I have a headlight question. It's not your regular problem, w/ the hl motor or the relays going bad, I know all about those problems and how to fix them. My problem is in the headlight switch. I need to know if there is anyone with the procedure for checking the headlight switch in a third generation ('82) firebird trans am. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
