Spoiler Paint Removal

Hey, the paint is flaking off the rear spoiler, and it's black underneath. I was thinking I'd just take the rest of the paint off and leave the spoiler black. The previous owner painted it in his garage really badly or something... didn't tape off anything and obviously didn't prep the spoiler. So, short of flaking the rest of the paint off by hand, does anyone have any ideas for getting off the rest of the crappy paint? Hopefully without having to paint the spoiler when I'm done...
