  • NFB: UPS

I just have to state that I have never used a more un-professional or un-freindly service in my life. I am supposed to recive a set of heads from another member on here and the got shipped and came into Canada at Winipeg then traveled to Calgary. Then all of a sudden they no longer know where to send the package. How the heck does that work, they obviously new when it got to Winipeg that it needed to go west. The one thing I must say though is the member I bought the heads from has been nothing but helpful, I really cant say enough about what he has done to help get these heads into my hands.
the other thing that bothers me about UPS is that the reciver can't do anything when the package does not arrive, but call the shipper and hope they are willing to help, that sucks.

Yep. Universal Puker Service. Between them and the Universal Stupidity Putrid Service it's a wonder anything arrives at it's destination.

I'm sure the Fed-Ex has its down sides (you gotta pay for weekend delivery)

U.S.P.S sent over a fne china set from CA stamped Fragile... well they broke over 1/2 the plates... I tried to get an insurance claim but said only the shipper can do it.... they needed proof of the value.. and I couldn't keep the dishes that did not break well ends up they were an inheritance from my late great uncle. I did what I could kept the plates and gave up on trying to get reimbursed for the losses... I know have an incomplete Makita China set

That sucks. I guess your loss is probably greater than mine, but I was really looking forward to putting these heads on my 383. They are a set of L98 Aluminum heads with 2.00/1.6 valves and some port work. I figured the would work great with my current Accel Super Ram.

I had trouble with them too, bro. I think they get switched from UPS to a courier once they cross the border. The courier that got my digital camera I ordered from a place in New York was Couttes courier. Well, they drop it off at the house, and my wife gives them a check for the $50 in duty/gst and off the guy goes. A day goes by and we get a phone call saying that they need payment for the duty/gst. I call them back and tell them we gave a check to the driver. Ok. So then they call us back and say..."the driver must have lost the check...can we send someone over to get cash for it and you just stop payment on the check?" Sure...why not. So they send a driver to my wife's work and she gives them cash. Well, that night we go to buy some groceries and realize that our account balance was lower than it should be. We check, and sure enough...they cashed the check the same day that my wife gave them cash. She never had time to stop payment on it, cause they already cashed it. I called and ripped a strip off the guy at the courier, and he dropped a check off to my wife the next week, but only after I had to get the bank to give me a copy of the cashed check so I could fax it to the courier as proof. I was ready to call the BBB and report them as a scammer. Anyway, yeah....UPS tends to handle things pretty poorly...like trusting an un-trustworthy courier to finish their deliveries.

Ahhhh, UPS...the Hyundai of parcel services. I'm not even gonna start on how much I hate UPS from the broken packages, delayed service, etc. DHL all-the-way man. Fed-Ex is good, but DHL is the way to go IMHO. One thing I have found with UPS though...light a fire under someone's butt, they'll get movin'

I don't know if it's area-specific, but I have nothing but good luck with UPS here in Connecticut. The USPS is another story... I can understand the frustration, however. Been there. It's no fun.

I've had nothing but good things from UPS as well, and Fed-Ex. USPS seems to never get the package to me though and i've never used DHL? is it?

We ship about 800-900 packages each and every day. We ONLY use UPS. We used to have Fed-Ex and UPS has proven to be infinitely more reliable than FedEx. We rarely, RARELY, run in to issues with UPS not getting our documents there on time.

Everyone makes mistakes once in a while... UPS is still the best if you ask me.

This isnt the first time I have had trouble. Their shipping within the US may be great but its not spot on in Canada.

Not spot on here on the West Coast either. We had our $1500 U.P.S. (uninteruptable power supply) damaged by UPS on delivery back to us from reconditioning. I've had packages either damaged or left in the rain instead of under the porch. I still stand by DHL

Yep, I have been using UPS for a while now. I even have a business account with them. Never one single problem and they are always on time.

BTW Joe, your parts are going UPS! That reminds me, I need to give you your tracking number. Hopefully Katrina will behave.

I used to get paintball stuff from them all the time. And they have most of the time been within one or two hours of the time they say the package will be delivered. Except for one time it was a day late, but thats it really. I think they are a good service but I would not trust them with any fragile stuff or very expensive stuff.
