Nice, you've got some pretty good fill rate #s there.

So it looks like your Pentium M 2.0 is faster than my wife's Pentium 4 3.0.

Wow, those #s are very similar to my desktop, which is also 1.8 GHZ. The difference seems to be the FX is better at high polygon counts with more lights, and the Ti has a higher fill rate. I'm sure the FX visual quality is far better, which is probably why the Ti "shows" a better fill rate.

Did you try 2003 on your home system? It has a CPU benchmark too, but I'm not quite sure if it's worth looking at. Just for reference, my Athlon 2200+ scored a 427, and Pentium M 2.0 GHZ scored 801...which is double the marks

Is that because of the 801 vs 427 vs 395 CPU marks? I always "thought" these processors performed about the same, but apparently the benchmarks show different. I'm not quite sure how well this benchmark measures a real CPU's performance though

                        I did find this review though: A P4 3.0 GHZ laptop, 1 GB RAM, ATI Mobility 9600 scored a 9367 in 3dmark2001. http://www.tomshardware.com/mobile/2...mayhem-05.html
Granted the video in my laptop is a bit better, but the they're using a P4 3.0 compared to my PM 2.0. I'm still trying to find more benchmarks for Pentium M's though...application, real-world, synthetic, 3D, etc.

Jeff, I just found this: http://www23.tomshardware.com/index....l2=18&chart=17

                          It looks like the 801 the Pentium M scored was right in between a P4 2.8 GHZ and a P4 3.0 GHZ....and right on with a P4 520 @ 2.8 GHZ.

I'm going to run 2005 CPU marks again to see what it does in the charts.

"laptop (12223)", the other numbers plus the battery life of the Pentium M seams to be better. Plus it's getting hard to find Pentium 4 notebooks. Yes they are there but the all seam to be the wide screens with the exception of the IBM ThinkPad. I really would rather have a standard screen because I have a 21"TFT I plan on using with a docking station most of the time. I would have to switch the resolution when I change from the laptop monitor and the desktop monitor. Plus unless you spend over $2,000 you can get a better video card in the Pentium M notebooks. I'd rather have a better video card than the fastest processor.

I'm getting a headache from this.

I don't see any Pentium Ms on the chart.

I first thought the 6XX series was Pentium Ms but they are not. The Ms are 7XX. http://www.intel.com/products/proces...iumm/index.htm
