    what do you guys think is the pontiac and buick to a lesser degree are realy in line for the chop. it would be a VERY sad day when the pontiac brand is consinged to the history books

    Not from what I've heard... at least not for now. The way GM wants to go about it is, no more multi-platformers. They want to group brands together in order for the buyer to have a choice of vehicle type. Example: Pontiac (for sport/luxury), GMC (trucks, SUVs), and Cadillac (ultra-luxury).

    That is just an example of course, but it is in GM's future plans supposedly. Who knows... It may be the only way to save them.

        I think that some of the problem is that the current SUV and truck craze has taken sales away from the car lines. With current gas prices going through the roof, don't be suprised to see folks getting out of these gas hogs and back into smaller and more fuel effecient cars. That's when you'll see a resurgeance of the car lines.
