  • The future economic cost of Katrina... beyond just high gas prices

    There has been a lot talk on this board lately about Katrina and the high gas prices... many believing that the gov't could do more to lower the prices and get things back in order. To really realize the scope of this storm and the disruptions it causes to every sector of life, here's a good article: http://money.cnn.com/2005/09/02/news...pact/index.htm

    I think it shows why things can't just snap back to normal because we all want it too, no matter how much money the gov't throws at the problem. Every facet of our lives are connected together, and problems in one part affect many others. In this case, just about every sector has taken some type of hit, so we could very well be looking at a recession in the future.
