  • I am now one with the firebird

Maybe it will just remind me of how I dump so much money in to her only to have some other unrelated problem occur soon after...but the less, I do it for the love of my vehicle.

Ever since I was young, I've loved 2 cars...firebirds and corvettes. I remember seeing literally brand new third gens and c4's, and just falling in love with them.

Another thing I always said when I was young was that I was going to a get a tattoo one day.

Well, I was with my buddy yesterday, and we took a ride to downstate Illinois to visit his dad. He's been doing tattoo's for 12 years...and always offered to hook us up if we wanted. It was spur of the moment, but I knew I always wanted one...so I got one.

My friend got an eagle's head/neck with the feathers colored in a red, white, and blue sequence.

There are 3 tattoos I have always wanted...and figured this would be the best one as my first. The most important thing about a tattoo to me is that it has to have meaning. Tribal stuff looks good, but means nothing to me. If it wasn't for the f-body, I wouldn't have my current love for cars, which in turn is going to be my profession. I just got it on my upper right arm...a tad over 2 hours non stop. It's not even 24 hours old as of now.

In about 2 weeks, after it is fully healed, I'm going back for a touch up. He's going to go over the colors again in spots to give it a deeper and more consitant look. After over 2 straight hours, he didn't want to risk any type of scarring because my arm was pretty battered up at that point.

The wingspan is about 6 inches or so, and is about maybe 3 or 4 inches or so from the bottom of the feathers to the top of the head.

The picture was taken by me also...kinda hard to take a picture of something you cannot fully see...but I think I did good.

      Hahahahaha.

I actually told my buddy yesterday that I should just tattoo my whole body...half orange, half blue. This way I don't have to paint myself when I go to the games

They do suck...but I'll always go nuts every sunday.

Hey, at least our defense is something to watch.

Yeah, the defense looked good, they could prolly tighten up against the run, but they did look good.

Watching them play in the first quarter was nothing short of sick. There were those 2 times in a row that we forced a turnover. That one goal line stance was fantastic. First and goal on the 6, and we wind up stealing that ball.

I hate saying things like this also because I don't want to sound like a whiner...but we we're getting screwed on a lot of calls. If you look at any replays, I can tell you exactly why we couldn't hold the run...cause their linemen were blatently holding our defensive line. I used to play the line in football...it's something I usually take notice to. When your opposing lineman just grabs and holds on to you, there's little to nothing you can do...thus the reason why there's a holding penalty.

All said aside though, our offense is still a joke...no excuses. Orton wasn't bad...but he also wasn't great. Those 3 false starts are stupid rookie type mistakes. Had that not happened, we could have easily kicked a field goal and won the game.

They better step it up against the lions, and especially against the bengals game I am going to 2 sundays from now.

I said it in a previous thread (last week sometime) and I'll say it again... I'm still picking the Bears as an NFC sleeper. The defense looked real good. As soon as the offense starts clicking, they'll be okay. Couple that with the fact they play in a horrid division, a weak NFC, and there you have my NFC wild card darkhorse.

In other news, my Steelers rocked yesterday. I know what you guys mean about going crazy every Sunday. There were years when the Steelers were downright awful. It didn't matter. I would pain through all 16 games and go nuts for every decent play they managed to pull off. I find it's actually more stressful when the team is "supposed" to be a contender. There's a ton more pressure that way.
