If you take care of it properly, these cars will give you several more powerful miles. It's all about proper maintenance. There are several people on this board that can attest to that. Chris (LimTengTransAm) has over 150K on his T/A and still loves it. I know there are several others on the board with similar mileage (and then some).SOLD: 2002 Trans Am WS.6 - Black on Black - 6 Speed

As long as you jack it up high enough, it's not really any tougher than the average car.Originally posted by mbhtransam98Good thats what i wanted to hear. Thanks guys!! How is changing the oil on these things? easy?SOLD: 2002 Trans Am WS.6 - Black on Black - 6 Speed

At the moment, my bolt on stockish 97 WS6 has 140K miles and runs the times in my signature. I also have a stock 93 Z28 with 140K that runs high 13s at roughly 102 mph in the quarter. My 87 WS6 has 210K miles and still turns the tires nicely. That's the way they run with good maintainance. When I opened up my T/A and did headgaskets at 120K, the factory hone was still plainly visible (mobil 1 synthetic since new).Originally posted by mbhtransam98With proper maintenance is it gonna last to 120k and run strong? I kno a guy with a 98 GT with the stock bottom end and tranny with 123k and still running 12s with mods of course. Is this what i can expect from this car?

Sorry, Joe. Forgot to mention you as a great source for a well-maintained, 100K+ F-body. These are great cars if you are willing to do the PROPER work. Too many people have cut corners with them, leading to many false notions that these are unreliable cars.SOLD: 2002 Trans Am WS.6 - Black on Black - 6 Speed

Cool guys...i am very maitenance picky so it will be done and i will run synthetic oil. Well i actually got to drive it, didnt get to get on it cuz it was raining but MAN is it different feeling then stang. I love it tho, hope they can work it out for me. Only thing is my stang has alot more visibility then this car. So at my track if u run a 13.99 or better u have to have a helmet which i do not have, do i need to get one in case if i go to the track with it? Also the brakes felt weird on it when coing to a stop. I never drove a car with ABS so maybe thats it.Current stanger and owner of a 98 Mustang GT with mods. The ABS shouldn't have kicked in unless you were coming to a hard stop, even in the rain. Every car feels a bit different when it comes to brakes. Just make sure they were done fairly recently.Originally posted by mbhtransam98Cool guys...i am very maitenance picky so it will be done and i will run synthetic oil. As far as visibility is concerned, yeah... it's going to be a bit less than the Mustang, but you are sitting lower than the Mustang, which has a lot to do with it. Takes almost no time to get used to. I don't really find an issue with visibility.SOLD: 2002 Trans Am WS.6 - Black on Black - 6 Speed

Ohh i am sure id get use to it, just jumping from the stang into the trans was a big difference. I had a 2000 Celica GT-S for 2 weeks..dont tell anyone, lol Anyways there was no turning around to see anything out back, u had to use the mirrors.Current stanger and owner of a 98 Mustang GT with mods.
