I picked up the Actron 9145 for $170 at a local Pep Boys, after a $20 rebate. Its "OK"..... but I haven't figured out how to access (or if it even will) access the "enhanced parameters".

I got it basically as a code reader, and to fix some minor things on a car my son was trying to sell, and it did help me locate faults like the infamous Saturn coolant temp sensor failure. But I think it would be better if it accessed the enhanced parameters (maybe it does, but I haven't spent any time trying to figure it out). All I have found so far is code reading, emissions "readiness" checks, and a limited number of "standard" sensor and parameter readouts, but nowhere near what is available in the PCM.

I'm in the market for one also.

Is THIS ONE any good? The price is certainly right. Especially because of free shipping.

Appears that is a "code reader" only. It will not scan the PCM sensors and calculated parameters. If all you want is a code reader, Harbor Freight sells one that works fine for $40.

Ah... Thanks, Fred. I'm looking into one that will read PCM's. Oh well. Maybe I'll just pick up the Actron from a local parts place that has it for $189.
