Today there was a wreck about 2 miles from my house. It was a very bad one and im not quite sure what happened. I knew all 3 people so I am very upset. The driver was a friend, I used to set with him on the buss back in elementary school and im am shocked by his death. In the passenger seat was his girl friend who is also one of my good friends. She got off alright with just cut and a broken leg. In the back seat was his girlfriends best friend and also one of my good friends. She was not wearing her seat belt and was thrown out of the car and died. I am in disbelief of this. He was driving his civic a bit too fast and lost controll and hit a bridge. This really makes me think back. I can remember picking on the best friend the other day just messing around and whatnot. I can also remember flying around that same curve day after day. This has showed me that you are here today and gone tomorrow and has really opened my eyes. This has affected me and will make me slow my butt down. Now i know how Ken and some of the others on this board feel losing family because they were like family to me and now they are gone. I hope everyone can get something out of this. I just want everyone to remember to always remember to wear seat belts and just because f-bodys are fast doesnt mean you need to go fast.
    Drive safely,
    Jon

Unfortunately, sometimes it takes reminders like this to make us see what's important and to see how quickly life can change if not careful. If you want to see a silver lining to this, remember that their deaths may have save your life or someone else's someday because they chose to wear a seatbelt, or slow down, or not street race. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their friends and family.

We recently had an accident in my area where a driver was in a hurry and passed another car in an area they shouldn't have. In the process they cut off an 18 wheeler. The driver of the truck died in the resulting fire. So now that driver who was in such a hurry to get to work or to get home from work is facing manslaughter charges and has to live knowing they took an innocent life away from his loved ones.

That's very tragic man. It's always the young ones that feel like they have the most to prove for whatever reason. Too bad he had to pay the ultimate price. Sorry to hear man. I hope this was a wake up call for you man. You said it yourself, just because you have a fast car doesn't mean you have to drive it that way all the time. Be responsible. Trust me, in a few years you'll look back at stuff you did and ask yourself what you were thinking. Take care bro.

Sorry for your loss. When I was 17, I lost a friend to a drunk driver. It's never easy losing anyone, but it's worse at such a young age. At least you are seeing it for what it is... a reminder of how easily life can change with a bad decision. Take care, man.

It's a shame hearing this...it happens far too often. Many people have that invincibility feeling until they, or someone they know, are knocked completely down. It's ashame the end result is a loss of life. I'm very sorry of your loss...I hope you have the strength to learn from this, and to be strong for their families if you know them. I'm glad to hear that you will be more cautious when drving. The only way in my life, that I've been able to make some sort of sense out of a senseless situation, is trying to think of the positive. Don't let the deaths of your friends go without cause. If their deaths changed your prespective...then through their loss could have come the saving of a life or more. Just like DaveM said, it could have saved yours and anyone else around you. Honor them by driving safe, and trying to make safer drivers of people around you.

A friend (more of an acquaintance, see him every so often, we're cool though) of mine had a WRX running 13.5 lbs. of boost, turbo back exhaust, other things....fast to sum it up. Drove it like an idiot all of the time. He recently just traded that in and got an '05 STi. This kid, repeatedly, has gone 100+ mph on side streets. The sad thing is there is nothing you can say to him or show him to change his perspective. He street races constantly, and is always just flying around. Other than this, he's a good kid, but it's this why I haven't become better friends with him...I just can't respect him. In my mind, it's just only a matter of time until something horrible happens. It's sad

              Take care and God Bless

The horrible thing is this could have been prevented. This was on a rural road and that turn is bad anyways because of people pulling out and school buss stops. It is also extremly sharp. That alone should have been enough to make him slow down. The advisory speed limit was either 35 or 25 im not sure but from the impact they calculated that he was going 90+ mph. This could have been prevented and I hope i affects people when they drive by and see wreaths. I know it has probably already saved my life because I will always think about that girl before I think about getting on the gas. She was very special to me, like a sister. Anyways this has affected me and I hope this affects all of you, young and old alike.

It seems things are worse than I thought. Today I talked to my friend Tommy who is the brother of the surviving girl. He was neen at Wake Forest Universty Baptist Medical Center with his sister and her condition is worse then expected. The broken leg is the least of her worries. She has a broken neck as well as staples in her head. I left school early today and I am goin to see her. I'm going to really hate to see her like this because she was such a beautifull girl. Remember guys speed kills so drive safe.

It's sad but for people like that you just have to hope that when they finally do crash they only kill themselves and no one else. Unfortunately that's usually not the case. He'll only change his tune after his wreck or after he gets a scare like 96Z28 has.
