Ok so im going to school today and there is a undercover baby blue cop driving the opposite way down a 4 lane road. I see him and am like o $*** he gets behind me and i know im getting pulled over. Lights go on and I get pulled over, i knew exactly what it was going to be....tinted windows. I have limo on the sides and he asked if i ever got pulled over for tint before (I have a few times) but I told him no and he was shocked. He gives me a window ticket and a no front plate ticket. I dont really care to much about the tickets but i was wondering if anybody knows Illinois regulations on where the front plate has to be mounted. I was thinking about just mounting it to the brush guard under the car other than that, im just no going to put it on. And the tint is staying I could care less how many times i get pulled over for it.

I don't know if IL has any laws regarding where the front plate has to go, but I doubt it. I don't know of any states that actually spell out in the statutes where the plate has to be mounted. If you have some time and you want to do some research, check out your state's website. It should be www.state.il.us Search for your department of transportation's page and they may have your vehicle code on there. I printed PA's off their site and carry it with me all the time, so I can be sure if I'm getting screwed over or not. If all else fails, just mount it and the first time you get pulled over for it, ask them to show you where in the law it states it has to be mounted on the bumper. I know wolfman in VA had his mounted underneath.Dave M

I live in Ohio and I kept getting pulled for no front plate as well. I just suction cupped it to the windshield on the drivers side and I haven't had a problem since.96' Trans Am: Chameleon Green, automatic, 50K, bone stock except for a flowmaster exhaust (not sure which one though, came on the car). 1600 watt Power Acoustik Amp and 2 10" 1800 watt Power Acoustik Subs.
