  • Man this 94 Camaro seems awful familiar

Since I picked up that 94 V6 Camaro, I've put on the 02 Chrome 10 spokes and put on a T/A catback with Z28 tips. Next is going to be big swaybars for better handling. Already this car looks so much like my old 94 Z28 that I keep doing a doubletake everytime I see it. The only real difference is the lack of V8 power and no 6th gear. Roll up windows, manual cloth seats, manual locks, manual mirrors, this car is definately a low weight stripper. I'm going to get this thing weighed just for kicks. It has to be down close to 3000 lbs. Too bad there's not 375 hp to go along with it. I'm glad the previous owner upgraded the rear with one from a 96 Z28 so I've got the 3.42s, rear disks and 1 piece driveshaft. There is one problem that I'm finding....... the speedo is off due to the gear change and I need something to re-calibrate it. Who makes such a thing? All I need is just to correct the speedo, no tuning or anything else is needed.

Joe.......I found this information on http://www.camarosource.ca/

"Cyberdyne sells a box which can recalibrate it. You can one from JEGS, Summit, or a local speed shops for around $65. On 1994 and newer cars, the speedometer can be recalibrated through the ECM with programmers like that from Hypertech. Tell them what gearing you have and they will create a customized program to recalibrate your speedometer."

You can have the computer re-programmed for your tire size and rear gear ratio, or you can use something like this: Jet SCU 2000

Hey BTW, if this is the car that the cruise didn't work in, the 3.42's are why. The vehicle's expected speed is different than what is being reported. Once you correctly calibrate the speedo, the cruise should work.

Different car. The cruise is out in the 93 z28. This 94 V6 doesn't even have cruise. The jet box is exactly what i need. I'll need to contact them as summit only lists trucks.

Summit has always been a little non-specific about their applications. But, I think the 2000 will be OK on your 94 6 cylinder.
