  • A little tire shop fun

Well I bought some tires over a year ago and I have had a reoccuring problem of them going flat. So I go to the tire shop and tell them to fix it. They put on some kind of sealant on the bead to keep them from leaking. I go drive home and at least one tire is out of balance now. So I wait a few days and go back. I ask to have my tires balanced free of charge and they say no problem. I pick up the car and drive back to my shop. Im sitting inside and look out the window and notice that the fender looks funny. I go out side and there it is... Passenger side of the car has been jacked up on. They bent the fender out trying to jack on it. then they tried to jack on the rocker panel in three places and flatened it out. Wow was I pissed off when I went back. They said to get a quote. I went and got three, all within $60.00 so now they have to pay for the fender to be fixed, painted, re-rock guarded the rocker to be fixed welded(seam poped open on the botom of the car), painted and roc guarded too. I just cant understand how they could do this... and its the second time in a year... guess I gota go else where to get my tires. To bad there are no places neer me that can do 18" wheels but the on that screws up my car.

Dont you want to wait until he gets his car back from being repaired? If it is really done well, and looks better than new you should probably not burn them.

There is respect due to them for at least accepting responsibility and taking action to correct their errors.

Now, if the repair job sucks and they tell you to go f- yourself.......

I had the same problem once. They missed the jacking point and did almost $600 in damage. Made good though. One of these days I'm going to come across a mounting machine and a balance machine to be added to my garage. Then I'm not at the mercy of a tire shop.
