One would think that a dealer with that much money could afford a decent digital camera. The pics look like they were taken on a camera phone.

They don't look that bad. I've seen worse.

How do they get away with that compression on pump gas?

I have noticed that they sometimes advertise the static comp. ratio rather than the actual ratio. It may be lower because of the cam, but it sounds cooler to advertise the big number. Heck my new engine has 11.59:1 comp(static) 9.7:1 dynamic. This was explaned to me in a really good way by FastTA here:
              dynamic vs static comp.

Thats a very good writeup by FastTA. I've always wondered that about compression and the valves being open and that explains it well. Thanks for clearing that up.

Yeah, pump gas reliability is determined more so by the DCR rather than the static. Most manufacturers and builders advertise compression ratios using the static.
