  • My 2006 Corvette Z06!

    Ok guys. Here you go.

After all the hype and the unbearable wait time, I got a call from the Corvette assembly plant. They asked if I wanted to go view my car being built. They didnt' have to ask me twice.

Short and sweet: This car exceeded every expectation I had. It is absolutely amazing in every way. I'm at home now trying to devise a way to put a free'r flowing air filter on it. It has some strange lookin unit that resembles a bunch of smashed up paper towels. I wish they had something out for it.

    Anywho. Here are some pics.

Here is what she looked like at the beginning of the day.

Looks like I'm missing something here.

    Oh, here it comes.

    Here they are coming together.

    Here comes the rubber.

Final inspection. This is just about 50 feet down from where the car hits the floor for the first time. Just about 50 feet past this point is where it is driven for the first time.

Some idiot stick driving it off the line.

    Finally, my babies are introduced.

Man thats awesome that they let you come see your car being built. Do you know how the oil pump stays primed? My friend races super late models which have dry sump oiling, and if it goes a day or so without running you have to take the belt off the pump and spin it with a drill before starting it.

Great pics, Norm. It reminds me of the time I was asked if I wanted to view the assembly of my Ford Festiva.

            Here she is getting sprayed...

            Here's the pre-mod finished product...

Here's the dealer-installed wing which was added upon delivery...

Apparentley, I had it painted again, and somewhere along the line, converted into a two door.

I know you're jealous, Norm. It's okay. You're Z06 is a nice little car, too.

Norm...You didn't have to go through all that trouble. I would've been happy to drive it home and deliver it to you!

Seriously, the new Z06 is Corvette through and through. The design and performance are spot on!

EDIT: Hope you don't mind. I posted your exploits over at the 5th-gen forum at cz28.com.
