Yup. There used to be a model airplane club/airport right next to the racetrack and airport. I've seen a few of those fly in person and it's way better than a video. This one guy had a B-52 that was just insane.

          OMG LMAO!!!
Never seen some body with a AMT Netherlands Olympus engine
on his back. The top speed he achieved at the Nürnburgring
in the summer of 2000 was 130 Km/hour.
          That's like 100mph on skates!

It would be neat if they could make a R/C Harrier.

Could you imagine how hard that would be? But you are right it would be awesome... Heck, the harrier is known as the widowmaker because it is so unstable and hard to take off in. Often times the pilot misjudges and overcorrects only to land the plane upside down... Or at least that was the impression given to me by the documentaries I have seen.

The F104 is called the widow maker. There is a guy where I work who flew them for the Italian air force. He said they lost 10 out of the 18 pilots in his squadron in training accidents.

That's funny because I personally talked to an Av8B Harrier pilot at Dobbins AFB (now ARB) and he said the Harrier flies great. That was the most awesome thing I have ever seen fly. If you ever get a chance to see one fly and hover you have to see it. Now the early British was hard to fly. They crashed a boatload of them.

The early GR models used mechanical fuel control. Lots of crashes because of this.
The AV8B switched to dual digital fuel control units.

I will have to dig out some of my old pictures for you guys.
