last night, when i got home from the gym, mary told me i got a call from a guy in Calif. from a german shepherd rescue, they were at the Long Beach County shelter pulling a german shepherd and saw a wolfdog in there....he went on line and found my organizatons website and called me at home.......
i called him back... the wolfdog is just a pup, 8 months old or something...and was scheduled to be put to sleep at 2pm today, Christmas eve.... he was found wandering the streets in Long Beach......2 weeks ago...no one has claimed him.
I started panicing...how the hell are we going to get someone to put the stop on this with less than 18 hrs lead time..... then it struck me...my God..one of my board of directors lives near there, i emailed him and gave him the phone number of the german shep. folks... the connected........and this morning...at 10am.....Mike (he lonly lived 14 miles from the shelter!!!!) took our 501(c)3 paperwork with him and credentials, and stopped the death of this sweet lilttle guy, who..appears to be a low content. Mike authorized the deworming and nueturing of him, and in 10 more days, he'll be released to Mike who will foster him till we adopt him out.. (he nipped a worker there, just barely broke the skin, so by law they have to keep him in quarintine for 14 days...
for those not familiar with rescue, especialy wolfdog rescue, this was a gift from Heaven today... most counties look for excuses to put them down....
We are going to name him something that has to do with Christmas..so start some suggestions, since his life was saved on Christmas eve......
here he is.......a fine looking boy!

This made my Christmas for sure
Being my organization is only 22 members strong, spread out from Canada all over the US....and one of my board of directors is 14 miles from the shelter of death......
