I heard Vince Young is coming back for one more year, but my guess is Reggie Bush will leave and follow the money.... right to Texas.

but... they do have him so I guess he makes them what they are.

Man... I felt like I was watching a complete re-run of the 2005 Rose Bowl.
Mediocre ball clubs don't knock off the number 1 team.......mediocre ball clubs don't win National Championships. Vince Young is where he is today because of UT's stellar offensive line. Ramonce Taylor is going to be a force to be reckoned with next year as well.

UT's D slowed down, rushed, and frustrated the Trojan offense. Trojans put up a tough fight.....just not good enough for the National Champs!!!!! UT is one the best college football teams to ever play the game.

Mmmmmmmm, I can already taste that Sam Adams Cherry Wheat!!

They do when they have Vince Young as their QB. Maybe "mediocre" is a bit harsh, but they are a three loss team without him.

What game did you watch?? SC scored on 5 straight posessions in the second half - including 4 straight touchdowns. The only stop they made was the 4th down play... and the only part of SC that was "frustrated" by Texas was their defense... who was more frustrated by Vince Young than anything else.

              whoa whoa whoa whoa... WHOA.

Let's not get carried away here. UT's defense looked every bit as weak as SC's. You can't be considered one of the greatest of all time with a defense that allows nearly 40 points in the national championship game. Everyone was willing to make an exception on the weak defense for SC because, had they won, that would have been three straight national titles and 35 wins in a row. UT is a great team (thanks to Vince Young), and this year's national champions... but they've got a long way to go before the deserve being considered one of the best ever.

There is at least one team that comes to mind that I would absolutely LOVE to see match up with this UT team. '97 Michigan... I have a hard time believeing guys like James Hall, Sam Sword, Clint Copenhaver, Rob Renes, Charles Woodson, and James Whitley would have allowed Vince Young to run and throw all over the field. That team ended up sending 17 players to the NFL, Brian Griese, Jerame Tuman, Tai Streets, Jon Jansen, Steve Hutchinson, and Jeff Backus highlighted the offense (Tom Brady was the backup QB).

I hope they both come back. I would LOVE to see a rematch in the national championship game next year.

I'm so tired of the Lions being the laughingstock of the NFL... it's pathetic. I don't know if I can stand another season like the last, oh, say... 15!!!

This article - save for the Pete Carroll rippings - pretty much sums up exactly how I felt watching that game...

I have much repsect for both Pete Carroll and Mack Brown. They are both class acts all the way. I did lose a bit of respect however for Leinart's stupid comment after the game. Bush, Leinart, and Lindale White are probably gone anyway.

The Houston Texans are probably thinking twice about Bush now. If he can't handle the pressure of college level play, he might not fair so well with an NFL d-back sighting him in. We'll see. He has incredible talent no doubt, but it looks as if he needs to develop some mental toughness.

I am just loving all the USC bandwagoneers that are having to eat their words!!!!!!!!!!

Bill Simmons is one of the funniest sports writers... scratch that... column writers I've ever come across. His Red Sox World Series running diary was an absolute classic.
