  • Detroit Auto Show...Anybody goin?

I am planning on going this Sunday with a few friends. It is about a 3 hour drive from here so we are going to leave early to get there as it opens. Of course the first stop is definately going to be the Chevrolet booth.

It looks like we will be leaving at about 7 AM to get there at about 10 AM this Sunday. I will be bringing both my video camera and a digi so It will be well documented. We will probably make our way over to the Camaro and then Challenger Concepts first...
I am sure I can talk them into going out to get a bite to eat...As long as you know a decent restaurant/bar...

There's plenty of decent places to go.

I went today on Industry Preview day... nice and un-crowded

I can honestly say that I don't like the Camaro concept nearly as much in person as I do in the photos. It's a lot more "space-shippy" in person... it needs some work. Ironically, the interior was kinda cool...

The Challenger absolutely blows it out of the water. The Challenger is absolutely beautiful in every way, I love the way it looks.

I'm gonna be heading to the show on Wednesday. Since Jay just mentioned the "space shippyness" of the Camaro when seen in person, now I'm even more interested in seeing it. It looks like a knock out in the photos.

If it does look a little "space shippy" when viewed in person, maybe this will appeal to the people who think it looks too retro.

After seeing the Challenger/Camaro size comparisons, I'm afraid that the Challenger may look too big. But maybe it will look like a nice beefy musclecar instead.

The one thing I don't like about my 97 Camaro SS is the overall physical size of the thing, and I think the Challenger is just as long. Maybe with short overhangs the Challenger would look more compact though.

So many things to contemplate, I'm looking forward to going.

                    Jeff

I'm afraid the comparison picture I posted may have exagerated the differences. It will be interesting to see how it compares in real life. Certain designs can make a car look bigger or smaller than it really is. The fact remains though that it is significantly longer...almost 12".

OK...So I have a 24 mb file(about 18 minutes long) of the best cars imho...Can anyone host it or refer me to a site that will host it for free? BTW, half of the video is the 5th Gen Camaro...lol I am not sure how the quality will be over the internet since this is the first time I set it for a 25 mb max file size. Thanks in advance.
