  • rippin my heart out, again

I normally don't post about too many rescues I get involved in, some of the golden retriever stuff yes, my wife is the intake coordinator for GRREAT http://www.grreat.com, but in my line of wolfdog rescue, i keep it pretty much hush hush, and I know most of yall dont relate to wolfdogs vs. goldens...

this one hit me hard today... a lesson to serious animal owners....sad.

I got an email....a plea for help....

a PA couple sold there small conservative house in the country and got the big wonderfull suburbia "house of their dreams"...... now the neighbors are threatening to call the local animal control officers and whomever they need to .....to make them get rid of their "pets".... and you know what? you can't really blame the folks in the neighborhood........I mean, come on...these are two high content wolfdogs.....very high! even though domesticated, their presence poses a threat to the community.....

they are brother and sister, 5 years old.....

so here's a couple, that got these two as pups from a very good breeder...raised them...tuned them.....and now...because of their "purchase" they have to get rid of them...... to me, if you love your animals (such as we do) you check all that out first before you move someplace ........its not worth the risk of having to give them up..... in the case of a wolfdog, as it should be for any pet, when you take them in your family, its for life!

thank God for http://www.fullmoonfarm.org , one of the sanctuaries we support, the owner being a very close friend of mine.... Nancy has sent the owner surrender forms and we are arranging to take the animals. Trouble is...because of content, they will be extremely hard to adopt out....they will most likely live out their lives in a sanctuary now.....giving up their family environment..... such beautiful wolfdogs..... breaks this old dudes heart folks..

it's a never ending saga..... untill people learn, dont take an animal into the family unless you make it for life..no matter what that may take.... so you make some personal sacrafices..... thats part of the package....

anyway..here's a couple of pics of them....... thought yall might want to see why I have a passion for these animals...and have had for over 20 years now...

    we'll save em...count on it.

If I had the space, I'd take them for sure, although my wife would hit the roof....LOL

Too bad man...Those dogs are beautiful!!! I would have definately looked into that before moving in. Almost seems like it would be worth it to move out imho.

It's a shame that people put themselves in this situation.

Keep your chin up Ken, you're doing the best you can.

It is a sad situation I cannot count how many wolfdogs you've mentioned in that situation that now have no place to go due to owners moving or etc. Good Job wolfman keep it up. Coors lite is on me

It's sad that some people think more of their material items than their family members.
