  • Tranny Question.

I have a 94 Cutlass Supreme with the 4T60-E that needs a tranny. A friend is parting out his Lumina and it just so happens that the tranny is the same one I need. The biggest problem is that it has 200k miles on it. The best thing is that he is willing to GIVE it to me...He says that it shifted fine through all of the gears and has never slipped while he drove it. So onto the question. If I get this transmission, what is the best way to flush/clean it to increase its longevity? While its in the car? While its on the floor? Thanks in advance.

You might want to try some to the tranny websites. I used one from a aftermarket parts manufactuer that was good, it had a forum, and knowledgeable tranny people to keep an eye on it.......I just can't remember the name, and I've since cleaned my bookmarks.

This one charges for their advice: http://www.transmissioncenter.net/

but you should be able to find a bunch on google.
