Not sure, but it cannot be too powerful. I could see something that shreds the plane the instant the button is depressed. I think the rule of thumb is to create 4 times the planes weight in pulling force. I would imagine surgical tubing stretched to a certain length and measured via a fish pull scale would do the trick.

      Fellow RC'er here

I fly airplanes, and helicopters. I have two nitro airplanes, one highly aerobatic, and one scale P-51 Mustang (still building).

The heli is a Raptor .60 nitro bird. Haven't flown it yet, still building. I sold my Raptor .50 to fund the .60. It's much bigger than the .50, actually, it has a .70 in it..

Here's a couple pics and vids. I've been flying RC's since I was 12 (27 now). Good luck with your new hobby!

      My UCD-3D:

This is my old Raptor .50 - the new one I have is bigger

Here's the radio I use to control it all - a Futaba 9cH (heli version, does airplanes too though)

      And finally, a couple vids:

No carnage, just some mild aerobatics

      Some mild heli aerobatics.

No carnage.. I can post the videos of me crashing the crap out of them if anyone's interested Actually, just the heli crashing..

That controller is sweet. I remember seeing some of your posts about these. I haven't done this since I was a kid. Now my son is at the point that he can start learning these and I get to experince childhood all over again. I just hope I don't take this to the extreme.
