  • Funny town names?

PA has some strangely named towns. Just wondering what other names are out there?

Here are some actual PA town names:

    Paradise

    Blue Ball

    Turniptown

    Bird-In-Hand

    Intercourse

    Slippery Rock

    Climax

    Jersey Shore

    Peach Bottom

    Pillow

    Beaver

These are just a few of PA's, there are many others. What are some odd names in your state?

Cumming Ga. It's just after you pass "breathing hard". (not really)

Snellville Ga. (just funny to me)

Dacula pronouned da-cu-la You should hear foreigners (not from Georgia) people butch it saying dac-u-la

There is a Slippery Rock in Georgia too.

    Love Joy Ga.

In northern Rurual Wisconsin, Between Green Bay and Kaukauna on Hwy 10 is a town called....

              Whitelaw

How would you like to be a black guy driving through there... And you'd have to be just driving through, because there arent any black people living there that I've ever seen.

I really think they should change the name of that town... this is 2006.

Augusta has a bridge called 'Butts Bridge'. It's actually quite historic. President.....Calvin Coolidge dedicated it to a guy that served in the military in the 1920's and was aboard the Titanic. When the boat was going down he supposedly grabbed a metal pole and said that he would not allow any men on the lifeboats until the women and children were out. Because he was from Augusta and his act of leadership, Coolidge had the bridge built for him over the Augusta canal. Really the only thing I can think of right now. We have a few weird street names...............Gay Street and Weed Street.
