It's because you are young and driving a red car. And maybe because you are female.

    It sucks to be harassed.

maybe its because the trans am looks so fast! lol

my first and only ticket was just after high school graduation. my friends and i went down to the river and walked a little. my friend got back to his car first and locked us out i laid down on the hood and he took off backwards. a conservation cop (no one around her likes them. AND THIS WAS THE WORST ONE!) saw us and held us until a police officer showed. the officer was generous and just gave us seatbelt violations. the conservation cop would rather we got jail time! reckless endangerment for the driver and reckless disregard for me and my other friend who voluntarily jumped onto the hood, while i decided to hold on as a reflex of something moving out from under me. but the seatbelt violation has been my only ticket so far. and im a pretty good driver.

i cant be mad at the officer, mainly because im working on my bachelors in law enforcement. lol

that's why I don't use detectors anymore... you get a faalse sense of security when you use them. It's best just to stay on your toes and watch for them or the brake lights of those in front of you. That's my detector and it hasn't failed me yet.

I quit using my detector as well. Most of the time, when the warning was real, I could already see the speed trap. Now I just try to keep the speed down. That ticket does suck though. I go more than 10 over to pass folks at times too. And well, they can only pull over one car...and yours was it.

I say go to court and contend the ticket. The worst that can happen is you waste a little time.
