  • Sebring gets peaceful again

Yesterday's race brought the usual big increase in traffic, lots of sports cars, lots of tourists, etc. The day after the race and the town gets quiet again. It's pretty cool to be watching TV in the garage, watching the race both live and on the tube while twisting wrenches. Still, it's good to get the tourists outa here. Traffic slowed to a crawl.

Oh yeah! .... I live on a boarder property to the track. I can watch the race from any room in the north end of the house, or just watch from my driveway. I get a great view of the last turn before the long back straightaway and about the first half of the straight. I have a perfect view of the tower, pits and part of the track.

That rocks. I'd love to see the swarm of cars coming in for scheduled pit stops, all while holding a beer in my own driveway.

I read that the Audi team won overall with a diesel, and the Corvettes beat the Aston Martins this year.

Should be interesting at LeMans if the Audi diesels will make it there too.

Next year we should just go to Joe's and drink beer in his backyard and watch the race. I'll bring the beer even!

That's sweet Joe. I didn't know you were that close to SIR. It is amazing that the Audi diesel won this year. That's got to be a first in a major race.

The fact that a Diesel won is indeed amazing. I'm glad to see that kind of development in diesel technology. A little late, but at least there is some accomplishment. Now if only something can be done with electrics........ nothing like the torque of electric motors.
One of these days I should take a pic from my driveway just to show how close to the track I really am. Only one fence seperates me from the Race property.
