  • Another guy with a new job

Hey guys, I just got official word that I got a new job. 3x more pay than my previous, and 100% all benefits paid. I've been looking for a job like this for 3 years and finally got it...my prayers have been answered. I'm starting next Monday.
So now it's time to save up for a house or mod the T/A. Probably the house should come first, but when a small 2 bdr/2 bath around here costs $600k, it's gonna be tough.
94 Black T/A GT, Advanced Induction 355, 3200 stall, built 4L60E, Moser 9", Baer Brakes, Shooting for 11s...

Congrats, Man. Just be sure, above all else, you're happy there. That's what really counts.

    Good luck.

          Awesome!

Housing prices are insane here too. There's always townhouses, maybe. Or even a condo. At least the value will go up and your payments will remain the same.

                Thanks guys!

Yea, housing prices are insane here. Nice condos are in the 500s, some with no garages...maybe a tiny one if I'm lucky. A garage, of course, is a must for us who can't keep our cars stock

Thanks again guys. I know that 3x pay is awfully strange, but the previous job was a non-full time independent contractor position with no benefits and I had to put 15.3% (rather than normal 7.65%) for FICA. And the new one pays more hourly, is full time, 100% benefits paid and 5% 401k matching. I can't believe how much benefits really add up. I paid about $3k in mediocre HMO health insurance alone last year. Now I get free PPO with 0 deductible
