Up early and going to the NHRA Nationals in Houston...

Anybody from here going Houston Raceway Park for the NHRA nats? PM me if so.....I have several extra weekend passes? PM me if you would like to go. NHRA is getting strict on Saturdays for assigned seating on the pit side, so let me know. I think the weekend passes are up to around $92 now.

I just bought a new digital vid cam, so I am going to try to get some shots of the nitro cars from the finish line! That is an awesome perspective!! You see the flames shoot out of the zoomies, then about a second later you see 7,000 HP barreling toward you at warp speed! The guys on the spectator side can usually collect a blower belt or two.

Just got back. Surprised traffic wasn't actually that bad like it usually is coming back on I-10.

The humidity was over 90% last night, but the nitro cars didn't care. There were still several track records broken. Pretty big turnout this year. I hope it just continues to grow.

Nope. In all the rush to get there on time for Friday qualifying, not only did I leave my camera, I left my cell sitting right on the spoiler of my TA also. Oh well, I'll get some good video and pics at either Vegas or Atlanta.

I really want to show everyone here what it's like to see the nitro cars leave watching them from the finish. It is way too cool. I almost like watching them from down there as much as sitting next to them when they leave.
