    SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
    NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BALTIMORE MD/WASHINGTON DC
    1050 AM EDT MON APR 3 2006

    CHARLES-ST. MARYS-CALVERT-ORANGE-STAFFORD-SPOTSYLVANIA-
    KING GEORGE-
    INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...WALDORF...ST MARYS CITY...
    FREDERICKSBURG
    1050 AM EDT MON APR 3 2006

    ...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...

    A LARGE...DEEPENING STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE FROM THE OHIO VALLEY
    TO THE MID ATLANTIC TODAY. STRONG WINDS AND DAYTIME HEATING WILL
    BE CONDUCIVE FOR ISOLATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP DURING
    THE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING.

    AT THIS TIME THERE APPEARS TO BE A THREAT FOR TORNADOES WITH ANY
    SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THAT OCCUR...IN ADDITION TO LARGE HAIL AND
    DAMAGING WIND GUSTS. THE PRIME TIME FOR THE SEVERE WEATHER TO
    OCCUR IS EXPECTED TO BE BETWEEN 5 TO 10 PM.

    CONTINUE TO MONITOR NOAA WEATHER RADIO...LOCAL MEDIA...AND
    WEATHER.GOV/WASHINGTON...FOR THE LATEST HAZARDOUS WEATHER
    UPDATES.

      The southern line went through Atlanta this morning. Luckily it fell apart right about the time it got to Atlanta. But before it got here my wife ended up driving right through a purple cell.
      It doesn't look all that bad up there. They aren't even showing rotation.

          Yep.......right in there with you. A Tornado watch has been issued for much of the Carolinas until 8:00PM today.

                  They reissued a tornado watch for Atalnta until 8 pm. I don't see anything on the radar either.

                  For all here is a good link for severe weather. Go here http://www.intellicast.com/IcastPage...y&prodnav=none then click the radar site where you want to see from. Then you will see the wind speed and direction chart (to and from the radar). For the picture above go to the top and put the mouse over the "severe" then click "storm watch" or "metro storm watch" for a close in look. On the left you can turn on and off counties, highways, etc. At the bottom there is a chart saying what the cymbals mean. You can click on the chart to move around too.

                    Check out the tornado (red diamond) on the radar. (This will be gone shortly)

                        We have thunderstorm and hail watches here in DE as well. I really would not like hail since i have to park my car outside

                          We have some interesting cells forming up to our West as well. There was some black in there a little while ago. Not uncommon at all for South Texas to get purple, black, even white in our thunderstorms.
