I am doing all of the things that were listed there, however being a student in college, and preparing to sell the TA for another vehicle and trying to find work somewhere close to my house back home, it is just frustrating that a large portion of my paycheck will still go to gas due to the increased prices. Im sure there are other who share the same frustration as me. I understand more now why the prices went up after reading the things posted so thank you for that but if they shut down some refieneries does that mean that when they open up again the price will drop at least a little bit?

It's neither the Government as a whole or the Petroleum companies that are responsible for the rise in oil gas prices......it's the greedy commodity traders and inaccurate market speculation. The CTFC is an independent agency of our US Government.

I don't understand how people can still drive SUVs... why not a 4-cylinder Corolla for a daily driver?

Everything changes once you factor in children. We drove around a Corolla until Austin was 2, but it was just too cramped. So we sold that and got a Toyota Sienna. Not as good MPG as the Corolla, but about the same as a Blazer and comfortable seating for 7.

Just 2 weeks ago I was in line for the pump and I witnessed an Expedition with a $70+ bill. I just sat there amazed while I watched it climb. I can't imagine what that would be now.

I got rid of my auto '96 LT1 w/3.42's and now have a manual LS1. Even 1mpg makes a difference now a days. Every little bit helps.
