  • our storms this eve.........

welp, it didnt end up as bad as we thought, did get alot of thunder though...

thought i might share this with you dog lovers, many dogs are terrified of thunder... even wolfdogs (Keona is not though)..

in rescue, my wife and I are both faced with, time to time, people wanted to get rid of thier dogs because they "cant take it anymore ....he/she freaks out in thunder storms........" we even know somebody that had thier dog put down because of it......have not spoken to them since.......

there is a device called "The Anxiety Wrap". its not cheap, depending on what size dog yours is......but damn it works!!! Reno, our 4 year old golden retriever is one of these "i hate thunderstorms they are gonna kill me" dogs........

we got one for him.....its like flipping a switch.......makes em secure as ft. knox.... and it works for other stress situations too......

just might save somebody here and thier animal alot of hard times.

    here's old Reno tonight..chillin...LOL...

Hmm sure could use that when I'm working irregular shifts (like 3rd shift tonight ) . My dog Ace hates being left alone (separation anxiety) , heaven forbid if I am busy and get home off schedule . How much do they run for a 60 lb dog?

Interestingly enough...this technique has been used to treat autistic children for years. The belief is that stimulating the exterior as a whole of the person, helps to focus the mind. It's why "hugging" feels so good to you and me...stimulates the primative brain giving the sensation of well being.
