I just got back from a golf trip in Myrtle Beach. A bunch of us go every year for a few days and have a great time. I was supposed to fly down, but plans changed the night before. One of my friend's flights got cancelled for some odd reason, so at the last minute, him and I decided to drive the 12+ hour trip that night (Wednesday). We arrived in Myrtle Beach around 11:30 Thursday morning, just in time for our 12:10 tee time.
The weather was perfect. About 77 to 80 and clear. It was nice to just forget about everything else for a while and simply play golf and hang out with some friends.
After playing 36 holes on Saturday, we ate some dinner and left South Carolina around 9:30 that night. We drove through the night and made it back into Connecticut by 10:00 am Sunday morning. I slept a good part of the day yesterday.
This was one of the few times I took 95 all the way down. We drove at night, so there was almost no traffic. Normally, I'll take the 295, 395, 495, and 895 routes around places like Baltimore, Richmond, and Fredricksburg. It wasn't necessary this time.
Drive or no drive, it was a blast. Looking forward to doing it all over again next year.
