Ohhh, I've always wanted the "Good eye Award"! Wish I didn't have to wear contacts then. Wow, that T/A is ragged out to the max. Good project car...but not for that asking price!

May look dumb, but if he has the correct diameter tires on the wheels, it won't hurt the posi at all.

LS1 cars (except SLP cars) don't have a posi (limited slip). They have Torsens. They don't have clutches to wear out. Still not a good idea but as Injuneer says they still could be the same diameter.

Here's some good reading on the Torsen differentials:

I see...but regarding the tire diameter...if all the wheels are 17's, there's no way a 40 series tire would have a side wall like that. Besides, if you look at the fender clearance, it's considerably less.

Ok wait.....didn't you just agree with STANGETR that there was one 16" wheel?? Now you are saying that they are all 17's?

From the considerable amount of difference in the rear fender wells, it looks like a 16" on the right side, and a 17" on the left. The actual ebay add says 17" on all fours, but there is 4 completely different tires (just brands according to the add too), there just must be a different 'somethin' going on on that right rear! Whatever it is, the car has been used and abused.

How does a car having four different tires mean automatically mean that it has been "used and abused"??

It is not uncommon for 4th Generation F-Body's chassis o sit a little cock-eyed. Mine always had a larger gap in the left rear wheel well than the right rear.

You must not have looked at the actual ebay auction for this car. There are much more pics of this car, clearly showing extreme wear. I didn't mean that because it had four diff. tires that it was used and abused. It had something like 70,000 miles on it, but it looks like 170,000. Someone clearly did not take good care of their car.

It looks like a repaied vehicle. The fender lines dont match up and the fenders are wider than the doors, the hedlights dont close which leads me to think it has been all apart and built from another car, and the person who assembled it didnt care about tolerances. The car has been re painted and badly, I can see different shades in the paint.

There is definitely more to this car's story than the auction is letting on.

How do you wear a hole through the shifter knob in 70,000 miles? I have an 89 with 160,000 KM with hardly any wear.

This Texas Auto does a lot of auctions on Ebay Motors. They do tons of F-bodies. None seem to be as bad as this, but I always get the feeling they just mass purchase these cars and turn a quick profit. Not a company I would be willing to do business with. Just look at the huge, metal warehouse they use as their showroom.
