I'm looking at some different sets of headers for the GN. I was going to go with ATR, but since they've gone out of business, I'm stuck looking at other sources. Currently, the offering from Hooker is my most likely candidate (coated and only $550 from Summit). However, I stumbled across a set from TA Performance. They offer theirs in 3 different variations...mild steel, coated mild steel and stainless. If I were to get their stainless set, would I still need to get them coated? I'm so confused lol

For the GN.... get Poston's. I put mine in about 6 years ago and they still look new. There are different grades of stainless and yes, you still want them coated.

Wow, didn't even know Poston made headers. Pretty good setup, huh? Do they come with the crossover and/or downpipe?

And, just for kicks, which would be the better of those 3 choices I posted? The stainless?

      Thanks Joe. You da man

The header design on these cars isn't quite as critical. The dyno tests of headers that I remember had them all with a few HP of each other. That's why I chose Poston's..... it also comes with a great high flow Y pipe.

Y-pipe?!?! It seperates the turbo flange from the passenger side header?

I should have called it a crossover pipe. The factory one is squashed and flows terrible.

While I don't have pics of the crossover pipe, here are a few of the Postons installed. take note of the thick flanges and the finish. more expensive than some, less than others, you can't beat the quality.

Wow!!!! Those look great. Heck, they look brand new still.

Is the cross-over a 1-piece or 2-piece unit? How big is it? Care to buy me a set? lol

It's a two piece slip fit, I think 2.25"....... can't remember exactly. It's bigger and better flowing than the stocker. I'll look it up when I get out of work.
