  • Quick Argument with my Friend

I had a little argument with my friend who use to drive a 96 trans am too. He said his car was made in Canada because he has daytime running lights, i told him that all f-body's were made in Kentucky. Werent they all made in Kentucky or was i mistaken.

    thanks

It's the Corvette that is made in Bowling Green , Kentucky.

Whether the car has daytime running lights has nothing to do with what country it is made in.

Now that's odd. DRL's on a '96 model? Maybe he means it was sold in Canada? DRL's weren't on f-bodies till '97...at least that's what I thought. Is he sure it's a '96?

                He's right...sort of.

The 96 F-body's bound for the states did not have DRL until 97.

However, the 96 made for Canada F-body's did have DRL.

As far as I know, 1994+ Canadian models have DRLs. It's states so in my manual. I'm not sure about the 1993s though...Steve could probably look it up in his manual.

I know for sure its a 96 and when you turn the car on the orange signals in the front light up and his mileage is in MPH not Km if thats what they do in Canada.

Its in both. Km/H is on the inside of the speedo, MPH is on the outside.

As for the DRLs on the 93s, the manual does show them for Canada models. Hmmm...wonder how hard it would be to add that in

Yeah, but in the Canadian models, the KPH is on the outside and the Mph is on the inside. I'm in Canada right now, so I have an edge.
