    Hi everybody,
    I havent posted in a while, been very busy, but I have a lot of things to wanted to ask your opinion about...

    Looks like i we got a race lined up, against a 2005 mercedes SLK 55 AMG, its got 360 hp, 376 lb-ft , and it is a lot lighter...I costs about $100 k, much more than ten times my formula and is 10 years newer and that is the beauty of it

    I still think the 95 formula A4 will put up a good fight.
    The only mods are an underdrive pulley and the exhaust, which looks like a magnaflow but i m not sure. Also it might have some kind of pcm tuning because i noticed it shifts over the red line.

    At the race track it did a 13.975 quarter mile, with reaction + .708
    60 ft 2.109
    330ft 5.914
    1/8 ET 9.039
    1/8 MPH 78.97
    1000' ET 11.634
    1/4 ET 13.975
    1/4 MPH 97,39
    and it will run low 14 s all day.

    When i took it to a dyno, I got 334bhp at 5397 rpm, 357 lbft at 4540 rpm, but i dont trust these numbers , they seem too high

    What do you think the outcome will be, and what mods can I do to make it faster and what do you think about the quarter mile times?
    If I can make it faster easily i even can bet almost $1000, and get back the money i invest in the mods

    My money is on the Mercedes

    SLK 55 AMG - 5.5 L (5439 cc) 265 kW (360 hp DIN) V8 engine, 0-100 km/h (62 mph) 4.8 seconds, top speed 155 mph (electronically limited).
    97 Trans Am A4 more or less stock (Mods: WS6 Ram Air with Fernco & K&N, 12 disc CD changer, power antenna, SLP Fan Switch, LS1 Aluminum DS, Borla Cat back, McCord power plate, Spohn tower brace, Sirius, HID fog lights)

      The SLK will win this one pretty easily. I wouldn't bet any money.

        couldnt have been 334 at the wheels, i think it has like an 80% margin of error, entertainment only..

        The slk guy started 'mine has got traction control and yous doesnt' 0 60 in 4.2 sec, american piece of £$%^ engineering and so on...
        so i said 'we ll see'

        I know what his car costs and i know what a 95 formula costs and I would love to see his face after he loses. all that money and gets his a&* kicked by a 10 year old american car. Wouldnt that be nice? . Thats why i am planning on installing nitrousm and raise the money invested in the pontiac to about 8 percent the value of the mercedes

          You will need the nitrous. Otherwise, he won't be getting his a&* kicked by a ten year old American car... even after the nitrous, I still don't think he'll get his a&* kicked. He's probably running high 12s all day.

              I'm no fan of Mercedes but they run pretty good from the factory already. This particular one has been with AMG who makes them fly even faster.

                Suggestion

                I know nothing about the car you are trying to race. However I know alot about drag racing. My suggestion is to get friendly with someone at the drag strip that has a car similar to yours, and convince him to race the Mercedes for you, for a cut of the profit. If the fool who owns the Mercedes thinks hes fast he is mistaken. Believe me a 12 second car at the drags is pretty slow, when compared to what some cars run at the drags. I had a BB Nova that ran mid 10s on motor and mid 9s with a 150 shot, and that was not that fast. Your car will need at least a 200 shot to stay with the Mercedes if what the others say is true. I do not know if your drive train can handle that much, and even if it can you will need some drag radials or slicks to handle that much power. Good Luck and remember there are many guys at the track who will be eager to take that fools money. Just noticed you are in europe. That kills my go to the drags theory out the window. I would not bet on this one even with the Juice as you might break something when you hit it and loose more money.

                  Just assuming you are correct and your dyno information is close to reality, you would have roughly 267 RWHP. That seems reasonable if not a little low.

                  Nitrous manufacturers advertise their HP ratings at the wheel. So if you were to install a simple dry kit jetted at 150 HP, you would have roughly 417 RWHP. Now, that would give you a distinct power advantage, but then you are going to have to worry about traction(especially if you spray out of the hole), and your 4L60E holding up.
