I hear that. My rain gauge goes to 6" and it was full within just over 3 hours once it started to come down.....and it continued to rain for a while after that. I was very angry that I did not get to see my dang fireworks!!..I sat for an hour..it didn't look like it was gonna rain but sure enough as soon as they took the last bit of fireworks out onto where they were letting them off..here came the rain and lightning..BlAh..it made me very angry lol...just though i would share my frustration :-D
