  • Sweet car sighting...

I was leaving work yesterday and as I was walking out the door my eyes instantly caught sight of a sleek looking silver sports car that I, at first, had trouble identifying. Then I realized what it was: A Mercedes Benz SLK Mclaren. I almost soiled myself. Now I ask you, would you drive your $436,000 exotic to get groceries, even at a snooty health food store?? Not me...I especially wouldn't want to park it in a parking lot and risk door dings. Oh well, in a neighborhood where the apartments across the street from the store start over 2000 sq ft. and rent for over $4-5k/month, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. The picture sucks, but I just didn't feel comfortable walking around such a pricey car, taking pictures with my phone if the owner walked out.

It was a wierd day, cause right after I saw this, I was heading to my car and saw a Ferarri 360 drive by. Then today I was going over to my sister's place and passed a Lamborghini Gallardo. Since when did DFW become an exotic car mecca??

617 hp and a top speed of 208. Sounds like a typical grocery getter to me!

SFC( not sure what kind), drilled/slotted rotors, K&N air filter, all free mods, 3" Borla cat back exaust, electric exaust cut out, NGK spark plugs, royal purple motor oil, and Zaino .Maybe more. I find more stuff done to it everytime I look at it.

LOL, I'm lucky to see a Viper or C6 Z around here.

There is a guy in KS that my father knew. He bought a Lambo Countach and a Ferrari Testerossa. One day he arrived in the airport and his wife brought the Countach to pick him up. He was pissed that it didn't have any room for luggage so he went out and bought an AMG Hammer Mercedez Benz. The funny thing about this guy, even though he's so powerful and even has his own exit off of I70, he still normally drives a beat up pickup and works with his cattle all day.

I stand corrected. Actually I'm sitting down, but same thing. :P To be honest, when I first saw it and snapped the pic, I wasn't totally sure that that was what it was. I was thinking it was, but didn't see Mclaren tagged on the back anywhere. But then I came home and looked up some pics of the car online and realized that was indeed what it was. I kind of wish now that I would have taken a little closer look. How many opportunities like that does a wage earner like me get?

I would take one if someone gave one to me. Then again, I would probably sell it....buy a nice house....and then a couple other nice houses, and rent them out. Think of the money making opportunity! Actually I would probably buy a nice house, a Z06, and a bit@$in home theater system, then pocket the rest.
