Joe Lieberman is the only Jewish person I know of in politics and he is a democrat.

Without fighting the terrorism it will grow. At some point it may get a nuclear weapon. At that point you might not can fight it and not loose an entire city. So which is more important, loosing a city or fighting poverty?

The fight has to be faught. There is no negotiationg with terrorist. You either kill them or they WILL kill you.

To add to the history lesson - Jews, Christians and Muslims all say they believe in the same God. Jews don't believe that Jesus was the Messiah and neither do Muslims. To Muslims, Jesus was a profit whose words must be learned.

One Muslim I had the opportunity to talk with once stated that Muslims are taught the Old Testament and the New Testament, along with the Koran. He also stated that Jews must die and Christians be left alone.

Oddly enough, when I look at Muslims today and compare them to the Jews of Jesus' time, they sure do have some similarities. Proper Jewish women during Jesus' time covered themselves from head to toe with veils in much the same way as Muslim women do today. Also, I think they follow a lot of the same customs regarding food and food preparation, like the no pork thing.

What's going on over there has a really LONG, drawn-out history and, unfortunately, I think it will continue that way for many centuries to come. It's hard to say who started it then, but it is easy to determine who started it this time. Israel was promised that if they gave up Gaza, then the fighting would stop. Guess what? It didn't, so they retaliated.

If you gave away something to keep someone from picking fights with you, then they turned around and picked another fight, wouldn't you start fighting back?

There are reportedly 5.67 million Jews living here in the US. That is roughly 1.8% of the entire US population. Do the Jews have a substantial political influence in our country? Hardly.

Since 1948, when the US (Harry S. Truman) recognized Israel as a democratic state, there have been ten US President's, regardless of political affiliation, who have adamantly supported Israel. And it had nothing to do with any internal, geopolitical, or lobbyist presure. Our President's have strongly believed that the US, in 1948, made a unwaivering commitment to Israel and it's people.

Sure the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), is very diligent in their efforts to gain the support of US political leaders and public opinion in favor of positions that keep Israel strong and secure, but this does not mean they are trying to or have ever been succesful in tilting the US Middle East policy at the expense of the American people.

Millions of American Jews have unwaiveringly and faithfully supported Israel ands it's people for decades. The vast majority of those same American Jews have also supported the US and all of it's elected administrations. It is wrong and to say otherwise.

Our relationship with Israel has always stemmed from noble roots. I'm not saying that our Foreign Policy, or more specifically our Middle East policy is not up for debate. It is a difficult process to manage. But let that debate go forward with a clear mind and an understanding heart.

Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz are a few more Jewish Americans that may have played a part in the post 9/11 events.

Henry Ford had some interesting things to say about the Jews back in the 1920's for some reason. Being a business gaint I found that odd.

Not that this changes anything about the discussion.. like most things, you can dig up about anything to fuel a fire. I just happened to do alot of research on my free time a few years ago.

Who says God did...the Jewish writers of the Old Testament did. No difference to me then between that and self-proclamation.

I wish I could stay out of this one, but, you have recived wrong info or just don't care enough to look. Canada has problems, not unlike the US. Yes we have a problem with military spending(or lack there of) and the people have shown that it was unacceptable by ditching the liberals, which has been Canadas worst problem. Whe have health care that is significantly better than anything currently offered in the US that isin't Priavate. Canada's problem lies in the east. It has the majority of the population and the french. The Liberals catered to them and thumbed their nose at the west. Finally the winds of change are blowing. While Canada may have problems, I feel we are trying to fix them, but like anything run by politics it takes time. And if you would like to have everyone quit getting in your affairs then quit stating your the police of the world and that its the US that has to take care of everything. If you make proclimations and stand out front, expect to have criticism. Its like the stars of hollywood, if your famous, you have no personal life. Being your closest neghbor and being so tied to the US and Vise versa I think Canadains have a right to put their two cents in, like it or not we are joined at the hip. Things that happen in the US affect Canada. OH and ps the best thing to come out of Canada would be your oil and water and power and allies every time you guys piss someone off in the rest of the world. Also we support your operations in Afghanistan so that you can send more troops to Iraq and where ever else you guys need to be, when you guys needed support in Bosnia we were there, in the first Gulf war Canada was there so DON'T be whining about Canada cause we are the only people who are guaranteed to support you guys, this is the first time in fifty years when Canada hasn't sent troops into one of your engagements!!!!!
