been on pins and needles since 8:30am this morning. my wife took him to the vet for the x-rays and total exam. our vet is a good friend of ours...and they went over him very carefully. poor guy had to be sedated for the xrays though...he's one strong hyper dude.... i guess i would be too if i raised a wolfdog from 5 weeks old to 3.5 half years to date, LOL..........
he had started acting strange.... he still played strong outside, but was leary about the other goldens and Keona bumping into him....several times, he squeeled out when they did.... he squeeled out once when he put his front paws up the counter when i was standing looking out the window and quickly got down. we took him in, doc examened him....found nothing....and they did a lyme test.. which came back inconlusive due to him be vacinated for it 3 years ago...it showed in the titer test...
as this got worse, our worrys for his health did.. and the doc was afraid it could be bone cancer, goldens are prone to it.........
he's clean...
however, he has a significant bone spur on his left hip...and thats where the pain is comming from. we are taking the xrays to the surgeon that does all the work for my wifes rescue www.grreat.org , this guy is one of the finest in NVA and does orthascopic so they dont have to open up Reno's hip.
Thank the Lord, I've been praying since we found out this possibility.... this beefy litte dude is the icon of our pack... raised the wolfdog, fought of infection bowel disease, pano, and put up with and accepted the two other goldens that came into our family from rescue adoption.... he loves everybody and every other dog he meets, and can take his ball back from the wolfdog, right outta her jaws!!!
i cant wait to get home and hug the hell outta him and take him out for his evening ball retrieving romp...!!!!
