My buddy is selling his cavalier and wants a 96 Camaro 3800 Auto with 219,000KM on it, he basicly wants more power and loves f-bodys but cant afford a V8, his previous car was a 91 Cavalier Z24 With A Cold Air Intake is this going to be enough power to quench his muscle car thirst?

I have a friend with a 3.8 Camaro. It's quick. Pulls on 4.6 Mustangs and runs with new GTs on a roll. I recall him saying it doesn't take much to make 3.8 quick. He has a slew of mods...
If your friend hasn't experienced more HP then what he has now, then he'll be satisfied...but I'd hold out for a LT1.

On a lark, when I had my '98 Camaro V6, I took a '99 GT for a test drive. I was surprised. I had expected more out of a V8. It didn't feel much stronger than my ride at the time. My '98 was basically the same as the '96 V6. In any case it'll be heads and shoulders above the Cavalier in the driving experience department.
As long as someone has spent some time to take care of it, it should be ok for the most part. Hopefully he can get the service records along with the car.Joe K.

I agree with these guys. It should keep him happy. It'll be a good bit more powerful than the Cavalier. My downfall was working for a Chevy dealership and getting to test drive Z-28's, T/A's, and Vette's on a regular basis.
I've had a taste of that kind of power, so now I want one really bad. However, there are alot of times when I am driving my 6 when I find myself grinning and thinking, "Man, I love this thing!!"

I've heard that hood clearance represents a problem. Not only that, the supercharger was designedfor a transverse engine. That may cause additional problems.Originally posted by ryan34Is it possible to throw on a supercharger fram the grand prix's?Joe K.
